If you answer yes to the following questions:

  • Are you a good listener?
  • Do you like helping people?
  • Do you enjoy learning new skills?
  • Can you spare a minimum of 8 hours each week spread over two four hour advice sessions?

Then Torbay Citizens Advice Bureau would like to hear from you.

On 30th September we will be starting a new training programme for trainee advisers.  The course will last approximately 3 months. You will need to be available for a couple of ½ days each week during this training period.

Once trained, advisers will be able to deal with a wide range of advice enquiries covering, for example, entitlement to benefits, employment rights, debt, housing, and issues relating to the family.

Being an advice worker can be very demanding and requires on-going training once the initial basic course is complete.  However, the bureau provides a very friendly and supportive environment and we are sure you will find the work very rewarding.

On Thursday 2nd September, Torbay CAB will be holding an introduction day, which is an opportunity to find out more about the work of the CAB and meet some of the staff involved.

If you would like further details about becoming a volunteer advice worker, please contact John Cooper on 01803 212916 or email info@torbaycab.org.uk

We look forward to hearing from you!
