We are a small local charity offering an enabling service in Torbay. We are a registered, independent charity providing a free, supportive service to unpaid Carers in Torbay.
Crossroads Care welcomes Carers on a day to day basis (please ring first though as we are often out in the Community visiting Carers). Our aim is to help Carers get a bit of balance and time in their lives, reducing any stress or worries they might have.
Pennie Evans – Development Manager and Julie Gibbes – Scheme Support Worker, are happy to meet with Carers either at the Olive Centre, at the homes of the Carers or at a location which is convenient for the Carer.
We are here to listen to Carers and help identify what support/guidance/advice they need which would make a positive impact on their current situation as well as their personal lives and caring role. We recognise that every Carer is different with a different set of needs.
We can also offer advocacy support – attending formal meetings, school meetings, tribunals, etc – as well as helping with any paperwork or forms – even writing letters on behalf of the Carer themselves.
Because we are a charity, we can often be more flexible in our support, tailoring it to the needs of the individual Carer.
