The Devon and Cornwall GNU/Linux user group is for anyone interested in, or using Linux based systems, which would include Android, Ubuntu, Debian and many others.
We can also help with free software such as Libreoffice, mozilla firefox and mozilla thunderbird, including the windows versions. All of which can be downloaded free of charge and may be ideal for people on Low income thjat want a solution that won't break the bank. The added advantage of Libreoffice is that it uses files that are based on open standards, so there is no issues with file compatability between versions.
The group meet up once a month in several locations in Devon, for Torbay we meet up at the shoreline on Paignton seafront, on the 2nd saturday of the month from 14:30 onwards, you are strongly recommended to join the group mailing list as any last miniute changes will be announced there.
the website for the group is http:///www.dclug.org.uk, and the sign up page is at http://www.dcglug.org.uk.
UBUNTU SPECIFIC GROUPS
For any ubuntu users out there you can also join the UK ubuntu loco team. http://ubuntu-uk.org/ and click on the mailing list link to sign up, this is more active and far more ubuntu specfic so more people can help.
I am currently using ubuntu 11.04. and am a member of the dclug and ubuntu-uk team. It would be nice to get more local users together of any age. http://ubuntu-uk.org/ from here you can connect to the mailing list or visit
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/IRC
to chat. I would suggest using the above irc chat room over the dclug chat room due to usage being greater and more help is available.
Young people also have the option of joining:
