Welcome to the Devon Appropriate Adult Voluntary Scheme (DAAVS) page.
DAAVS provides Appropriate Adult Services for Police Custody Centres/Secure units 365 days a year 9am - 10 pm on a rota basis to anyone deemed by the Police as needing an Appropriate Adult.

Main Activities:
To safeguard rights, civil liberties and welfare of young people and vulnerable adults whilst in police custody. To facilitate communications. To liaise with solicitors, CPN's, Police Staff ensuring compliance of PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act)
