We have a resource centre at Station House (Topsham, near Exeter) that is open 10am until 4pm Monday – Friday, which sells equipment to support visually impaired people live independently. We run a low vision clinic whereby people can be assessed for an appropriate magnifying glass and lighting. We have a member of staff on duty at the low vision clinic in Totnes in order to assist people with equipment such as talking watches, large print diaries etc. We produce a quarterly newsletter in various different formats to suit individual needs. We also provide advice on the telephone and to callers at Station House on a wide variety of topics. We have a Voluntary Visiting Service in both Torbay and Mid Devon to support visually impaired people to lead full and independent lives. We are running activities from Station House and also starting an outreach service to enable people to access our equipment and services across the County.
