The spotlight will fall on services, activities and projects aimed at the younger generation in Torbay at a special event to be held this month.

The Torbay Consortium, a platform for the local voluntary and community sector and a strong influential voice for the groups within it, is behind the gathering.

It will focus on youth projects such as the newly-opened Lighthouse music hub in Paignton and the multi-million pound world-class youth centre planned for the town’s Parkfield House. There’ll also be information about how services will be delivered in the future and the ways by which young people are safeguarded.  The newly-launched Empowering Children of Offenders initiative from Barnardos will also feature.

The afternoon on Friday February 19th, which includes a free lunch, will be a chance for those involved in this sector to exchange information and forge stronger links as they unite behind a common aim to provide a better quality of life for young people.

It will take place from 12 noon to 4 pm at the Windmill Centre, Pendennis Road, Hele, Torquay.  Entry is by booking only, so to make sure of a place - and places are limited - please email janette@torbayvs.co.uk
