What is a Local Area Agreement?
A Local Area Agreement is a new way for Torbay Council, to work with Torbay Strategic Partnership, Ward Partnerships, other organisations and Central Government to agree local outcomes for Torbay based on local and national priorities and the targets by which progress against them will be measured
Different pots of Government funding will be brought together to be used in a flexible way that addresses local needs and raises the standard of services based around 4 key blocks:
- Children & Young People
- Healthier Communities & Older People
- Safer & Stronger Communities
- Economic Development and Enterprise
The Local Area Agreement will be the practical expression of the Sustainable Community Strategy.
In Torbay the Torbay Strategic Partnership has already started to develop a new vision of how Torbay could be in 20 years time. The development of our Local Area Agreement and Sustainable Community Strategy are being brought together in one process.
